Welcome to the Movies Section!

This is the place where you can watch the short home movies that Mel and I have made for clients, friends and family...mostly family though. Use the menu on your right to view the movies. Having trouble getting the movies to work? Tell us all about it.

The first one made I named "Baby Views". Considering Mel's obsession with Star Wars it seemed appropriate. The second movie made by MelRay studios was one Mel made for Leah, just a slideshow really but we call them "Movies." Then one of her friends watched Baby Views, her slideshow, and an advertisement Mel made and wanted her own home movie from photos she provided. She loved it! You'll be able to view all these movies EXCEPT the one Mel made for her friend, she wished to keep it a private movie.

What you won't be able to watch is the Menu of the Movie. Now what I mean by that is if you remember watching a DVD movie, any recent DVD movie that is, it begins with a Movie Menu(after all the legal mumbojumbo). Sometimes they are just pictures, sometimes they have a motion menu with sound. I like to make my home "movies" with a motion movie with sound. So you won't find that here since this is not a DVD player.

If you want to watch our movies, with or without the Menu, ask for a CD of them. It's not a big request, takes little time to make. I can make them on a CDR in SVCD format, or put them on a DVD-R. If you have no idea what I just said, then don't worry about it. If your DVD player is a newer model(and not older than the internet) then it should play either one. For making things easier, why not look at the back of your DVD player, write down who makes it, and what model number it is, along with what color it is or where you bought it at just in case I have trouble finding the exact one. Then all you have to do is email us that information and I'll let you know what it can and cannot play. Easy enough isn't it?

Making these movies, for me anyway, was quite a learning experience. Since Baby Views, I have noticed more subtle intricacies in watching moveies. The way the intro appears, the font they use for the end credits, transitions used between shote. All very fascinating! I never payed attention to those features in most major movies. I hope one day to go beyond making movies with my home PC and video camera, and try working on a larger scale professional movie...who knows.
